ETLedger - Personal expense & budget tracker
This page explains how you can delete your ETLedger account and exactly what happens to your data when you do. We believe your data is yours: when you ask us to delete your account, we permanently and irreversibly erase everything associated with it.
If you cannot access the app, email us from your registered email address:
We verify the request comes from the account owner and complete the deletion, typically within 7 days and no later than 30 days.
You do not have to delete your whole account to remove data you no longer want. Every record you create in ETLedger can be deleted on its own, from inside the app, and each deletion is immediate and permanent on our servers:
If you would rather we removed particular data for you, email webnest247@gmail.com from your registered address and tell us what to delete. We complete these requests on the same timeline as an account deletion - typically within 7 days and no later than 30 days.
When you delete your account, we run a hard delete that removes every record tied to you from our servers and database. Nothing is kept - no backups, no copies, no anonymised remnants, and no “deleted” tombstone record.
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Your profile (name, email, password hash, preferences) | Permanently deleted |
| All transactions (expenses, income, transfers) | Permanently deleted |
| All wallets/accounts and their balances | Permanently deleted |
| Your custom categories and subcategories | Permanently deleted |
| Budgets and recurring rules | Permanently deleted |
| Notifications and in-app history | Permanently deleted |
| Device tokens and login/session tokens | Permanently deleted |
| Activity/audit logs and usage records | Permanently deleted |
| Any profile picture you uploaded | Permanently deleted |
The only data untouched is shared, non-personal content that is not tied to any user - for example the app’s built-in default category list. That data does not identify you.
We do not retain your personal or financial data after deletion. There is no grace period during which your data is kept in a recoverable state, and we do not keep delayed backups of deleted accounts.
In the rare case where a specific law requires us to retain a minimal record of a transaction we facilitated (ETLedger does not process real payments, so this generally does not apply), any such record would be limited to what the law strictly requires and kept only for the mandated period. In normal use, deletion means everything is gone.
Because deletion is permanent, you may want a copy of your data first. Email webnest247@gmail.com from your registered address before you delete your account and we will send you an export of your data.
